Bin Brexit
Bin Brexit - Vote Rejoin EU
Having now seen the hullabaloo about Count Binface and the other 33 candidates standing in the “Clacton referendum on Nigel Farage’s integrity”, I decided NOT to stand a candidate against Nigel Farage. I considered that one joke candidate was enough - it turns out there are now a large number of joke candidates, including three Monster Raving Looneys (who are actually not that daft) and a Fishfinger (who seems to have swam away on a small boat in search of a Plaice to live - COD only knows).
Bin Brexit. Vote Rejoin EU.
Part of my reasoning for withdrawing was that it turned out that a serious candidate is actually standing in this election. Meet John Stevens, Leader of the Rejoin EU Party. A quick synopsis of John’s unique selling points (USPs):
John is former Conservative MEP with deep experience in politics, unlike the other 33 contenders. A large proportion of the Clacton residents typically vote Conservative and our on the ground conversations indicate that they are abandoning NF.
John has already beaten Nigel Farage in an election. He ran in the 2010 Election in Buckingham, polling a respectable 10331 votes, and coming second to John Bercow.
John will actually do the work of an MP and therefore respect the people of Clacton by representing them in Parliament. He will not spend his time chasing Donald Trump, cuddling up to Russians, rapists and dodgy crypto donors.
John is not so concerned about NF’s £5 million “bung”, after all, that will all come out in the wash once the election is over. Instead, John aims to right the wrong of Nigel’s most famous failure aka Brexit, which is at the root of the country’s problems (Cost of Living, NHS staff supply which literally kills nearly 1500 people every year, our inability to find money for education, defence, social care and so on). Brexit costs us an eye-watering £240 BILLION every year. £93 billion of that is recoverable if we apply to Rejoin. That would go a long way to help Burnham fix Broken Britain. Farage has managed to avoid taking responsibility for Brexit, using WMD (Weapons of Mass Distraction) to befuddle people who are sick of politics and politically disengaged or dispossessed.
Every day, I am attacked by people who are supposedly on my side of the argument. They chant things like “You will split the vote”, “Bin for the win”. Let me explain the electoral calculus and why they are wrong in this particular and unusual instance.
The Vote Splitting Fallacy
This election will be judged by the TOTAL votes cast AGAINST FARAGE across all 33 candidates. Vote SPLITTING does NOT apply in this election as no major parties are standing. Count Binface’s major competitors are the Monster Raving Loonies, Mr Fishfinger and a few other candidates. Cannibalisation of Binface’s vote by The Rejoin Party is non-existent, as we are running a serious campaign. See John Stevens’ letter for a fuller explanation as to why it matters to treat the voters of Clacton seriously.
Electoral Calculus from Clacton
Rejoin EU have interviewed 400 people in Clacton. Only two show any signs of wanting to vote for Count Binface. Many feel outraged or insulted by Binface as I predicted. Binface fatigue and / or outrage has set in quite quickly. Alongside that, voter apathy is very high. A lot are offended by Farage’s decision to have a referendum on his honesty using them as guinea pigs. Thus, the vote is soft and / or non-existent, BUT they are quite persuadable to vote for someone else who treats them with respect. A lot realise that Brexit was one of Farage’s false promise. These are the spaces where the Rejoin EU party can get votes.
People have backed The Bin because they want to see Farage suffer rather than try to fix anything. Oh well. As I predicted several weeks ago, The Count has not removed his bin and he has not even been to Clacton which is both sensible (as he would definitely be attacked) and it increases local people’s sense of alienation both literally and metaphorically. Binface fatigue and or alienation has set in.
Binface has an amazing amount of support … nationally … from people who can’t vote in this election, but his polling in Clacton barely amounts to 4% giving Nigel an easy win. We are not competing with Binface, but we do need to see a much larger vote to face down Farage and his false Brexit promises. That can only come from a serious candidate.
Lazing on a sunny afternoon
It’s also no chore to take a trip to the seaside and meet some of the people of Clacton. If you can help us campaign, please get in touch with myself via reboot@brexitrage.com or John himself via The Rejoin EU Party website. I hope to see you for a Seaside Rendezvous ...
If you can support our campaigning costs, please go to SUPPORT. Given the febrile nature of this election, we are likely to need some security support, although we feel that Nigel’s £5 million Thai crypto bung is a tad excessive !! :-) Give what you can ... even the price of a milkshake ... :-) We have enough to make nearly two trips at present. It costs nearly £40 to go to Clacton without even buying a milkshake …
